McIntyre out of Bathurst 12 hour

Kiwi driver John McIntyre has suffered a major crash during a practice session which has ruled him and his team out of tomorrows Bathurst 12 hour.

Whilst on his second green tyre run McIntyre locked the rear tyres which speared him off into the gravel trap at the first turn. The gravel failed to slow him down and resulted in him making hard contact with the wall.

“I was on my 2nd set of greens and I locked rears at turn 1, spun and the car skipped across the sand trap and made hard contact with the wall.” Said McIntyre on his Facebook page.

“I had just done a 2.04.1 on the first set so we had a lot of pace and promise. Apoligies to the team, sponsors and supporters.”

The damaged to the #48 M Motorsport Lamborghini proved to much as the chassis suffered damaged that was not repairable at the track.

“Because the chassis is made of Aluminium it would not be easily repairable here at the track.”

McIntyre was set to take on the mountain with Justin McMillan, V8 Supercar driver Dale Wood and brother Glen (Wood).
